Zohid Kebab

Zohid Kebab is a Tashkent restaurant that opened its first branch outside Uzbekistan in Madinah. It sits inside As Safiyyah Museum & Park, about 200 m (a three-minute walk) from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, which makes it an easy stop between prayers. According to the restaurant, the first Zohid Kebab opened in Tashkent in 2017 and the family now runs six branches there.

The restaurant is inside the mall, not on the street: walk through the gallery past the shops, and look for the green living wall at the entrance. The kitchen is open and the tandoor bread comes out in view of the tables. A screen in the main hall carries a live broadcast from the Haram, so groups can follow prayer times without leaving the table. Seating is split: long tables for groups, a separate sofa corner for families and, per the restaurant, a banquet hall for up to 200 guests.

What to order

• Uzbek plov (35 SAR, 495 kcal): rice with lamb and beef, carrot, chickpeas and raisins. The dish the restaurant is built around.
• Adana kebab (55 SAR, 778 kcal): minced-meat kebab with bell pepper, served with tortilla bread, rice, radicchio salad and lemon.
• Lamb kebab in butter (70 SAR, 1,188 kcal): 400 g of lamb with peppers, tomato, butter and rosemary.
• Manti (25 SAR, 553 kcal): steamed dumplings with minced meat and onion.
• Mastava (35 SAR, 396 kcal): a rice soup with beef, carrot, potato and tomato paste.
• Ali Nazik (55 SAR, 758 kcal): fillet of meat on a labneh and mozzarella cream with tomato and pomegranate.
• Zohid tea mix (20 SAR, 99 kcal): black tea with blueberry syrup, lemon, mint and orange. The menu lists 17 teas, and the restaurant says the first pot is on the house.

For groups there are large platters, for example an assorted kebab platter for five (500 SAR).

Menu and prices come from the restaurant's online menu (menu.zohidkebab.com), checked on 11 October 2026. It shows calories, salt and allergens for every dish. Cash, mada and Apple Pay are accepted, and tables can be booked on WhatsApp. The restaurant pauses service for prayer times, so check the opening status before you go. Prices can change.
