Overview
Ar-Rawdah ash-Sharifah is a section inside the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah that visitors enter only with a permit. This page explains the booking process and the visit windows, which are set by the authorities. ZiyaraGo is an independent information service and does not give religious guidance.
How the permit works
- The permit is issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah through the Nusuk app and website, in separate versions for men and women.
- You sign in through Nafath, choose a date and an available slot and issue the permit. The service page states that it is free and issued immediately.
- The service is open to citizens, residents, visitors and GCC citizens.
- Press reports quoting the Ministry say that one permit can be booked per 365 days; a separate instant route for people who are near the mosque was introduced in 2025. Because the rules on repeat visits have changed, check the current terms in the app before you rely on them.
Visit windows
According to Saudi Press Agency summaries of the announcements of December 2025 and October 2026, men’s visit windows on Saturday to Thursday run from 2:00 a.m. until Fajr and from 11:20 a.m. until Isha. Women’s windows run from after Fajr until 11:00 a.m. and from after Isha until 2:00 a.m. Friday windows differ and have been changed between announcements. The permit shows the time that applies to your slot, so follow it and not a blog.
Entry
The announcements describe entry for permit holders through the southern courtyards in front of Gate 37, along signed routes. Staff direct visitors on site.
