How Many Days Can You Stay in Saudi Arabia? Visa Days Counter

A guide to visa days in Saudi Arabia: how long you can stay on an Umrah or tourist visa, the difference between visa validity and days of stay, how to count your last day, what overstaying costs and how to track your days with a free online calculator or the ZiyaraGo app and its home-screen widgets.

How Many Days Can You Stay in Saudi Arabia? Visa Days Counter

How many days can you stay in Saudi Arabia is the first question after the visa arrives, and the answer depends on two different numbers: how long the visa is valid and how many days you may stay. Mixing them up is the easiest way to leave late. This guide explains the rules for the Umrah, tourist and stopover visas in plain words, shows how to count your last day and gives you two ways to keep track of it: a free calculator and the ZiyaraGo app with home-screen widgets.

ZiyaraGo is an independent information service and is not a government body. The rules below are taken from official pages checked on 19 October 2026. Rules change, so confirm the terms printed on your own visa.

Validity and days of stay are not the same

Validity and days of stay are not the same

The validity of a visa is the period in which you may enter the country. The days of stay are the days you may spend in the Kingdom after you enter. A visa can be valid for a year and still allow only 90 days of stay, and a visa that must be used within three months of issue still gives you its full number of days after you arrive.

Write down both numbers the day you receive the visa, and add the date of your last day of stay to your calendar.

Umrah visa: single and multiple entry

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah FAQ, the duration of stay for arrivals with an Umrah visa is 90 days, and entry into the Kingdom must be made within three months of the date of issue.

On 20 July 2026 the Ministry announced a multiple-entry Umrah visa. As reported in the news of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on SPA, it is valid for 365 days from the date of issue and allows several entries with a cumulative stay of up to 90 days across all visits. Each visit needs a service package and a permit through Nusuk, and the visa cannot be activated from the first of Dhu al-Qi’dah to the 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah.

With a multiple-entry visa, count the days of every visit together: if you spent 30 days on a first trip, 60 days remain for the later ones.

Tourist eVisa and stopover visa

The eVisa terms say that the tourist eVisa is valid for one year, allows multiple entries, permits a maximum stay of three months and cannot be extended. The Visit Saudi pages describe the stay as 90 days.

A stopover visa allows travellers in transit to enter the country for up to 96 hours, and the Visit Saudi page says it is free when you book with Saudia.

How to count your last day

How to count your last day

Count the day you enter as day one. This is the careful way to count and the one we use in our calculator and in the app: your last day is the entry date plus the number of days minus one. For example, if you enter on 1 March with 30 days, your last day is 30 March.

Leave at least a day before the last day if you can. Flights get delayed, and the border officer decides the final date, not a calculator.

What overstaying can cost

Overstaying is treated seriously. The Ministry of Interior announcement on SPA says that visitors who overstay face a fine of up to SAR 50,000, up to six months in prison and deportation.

If something goes wrong, such as an illness or a cancelled flight, contact your airline and your embassy before the last day, not after it.

Count your days online

Our visa days calculator shows how many days you have left and your last day of stay. Choose the visa type, enter your entry date and, for an Umrah visa, add the days you spent on earlier visits on the same visa. You can also download a calendar reminder three days before the last day. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to us.

The ZiyaraGo app: My days of stay

The ZiyaraGo app: My days of stay

The ZiyaraGo app (on the App Store and Google Play) has a section called My days of stay. Add yourself and your family members, pick the visa type, enter the entry date and the number of days written in your visa, and the app shows the last day and how many days are left for each person.

The app reminds you 10, 5 and 3 days before the last day and on the day itself. The data stays on your phone, and the reminders are local, so they work without an internet connection.

Home-screen widgets for the whole family

Home-screen widgets for the whole family

The app has two widgets for visa days. The small widget shows the days left, the last day and the name of the person, and it switches between family members when you add several. The medium widget lists everyone’s days left at once. The widgets update at midnight Riyadh time.

To add a widget on iPhone, press and hold the home screen, tap the plus, search for ZiyaraGo and choose Days of stay. On Android, press and hold the home screen, open Widgets and choose ZiyaraGo, or use the Add widget button inside the app.

How we chose

We built this guide from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah FAQ, the Ministry’s announcement of 20 July 2026 on SPA, the eVisa terms, the Visit Saudi pages and the Ministry of Interior announcement of 27 April 2026 on SPA, checked on 19 October 2026, and rewrote it in our own words. The counter shows a guide, so the dates in your own visa and the decision of the border officer always come first.

Tips

  • Write down both the validity date and the number of days of stay when you receive the visa.
  • Count the day of entry as day one and plan to leave a day early.
  • With a multiple-entry Umrah visa, add up the days of all your visits.
  • Add every family member to the counter and the widget, not only yourself.
  • Contact your airline and embassy before the last day if your plans change.
