Shortening and combining
A traveller may shorten Dhuhr, Asr and Isha to two rak’ahs and combine Dhuhr with Asr, Maghrib with Isha. When praying behind a resident imam in the Haram, pray the full prayer with him.
Qibla & times
Compass and Makkah time
Use the compass on the Prayer Times page. In Makkah and Madinah follow the Haram adhan; times are in Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3).
Jumu’ah at the Haram
When to arrive
On Friday the Haram fills 2–3 hours before Dhuhr. Come early, use outer courtyards and bring a small prayer mat and water.
Janazah
After fard prayers
Funeral prayers are held after most fard prayers. Stay standing: four takbirs, Al-Fatiha, salawat, dua for the deceased, then salam.
