Shortening and combining
A traveller may shorten Dhuhr, Asr and Isha to two rak’ahs and combine Dhuhr with Asr, Maghrib with Isha. When praying behind a resident imam in the Haram, pray the full prayer with him.

Jumu’ah at the Haram
When to arrive
On Friday the Haram fills 2–3 hours before Dhuhr. Come early, use outer courtyards and bring a small prayer mat and water.
Janazah
After fard prayers
Funeral prayers are held after most fard prayers. Stay standing: four takbirs, Al-Fatiha, salawat, dua for the deceased, then salam.
