Ihram & Niyyah
At the Miqat, before entering Makkah
Bathe, put on Ihram (two white sheets for men, modest clothing for women) and make the intention for Umrah at or before the Miqat. From now, avoid perfume, cutting hair or nails, and marital relations. Recite the Talbiyah often until you reach the Kaaba.
Labbayka Allāhumma labbayk, labbayka lā sharīka laka labbayk, inna al-ḥamda wan-ni‘mata laka wal-mulk, lā sharīka lak
Here I am, O Allah, here I am. You have no partner. All praise, grace and dominion are Yours.
Tawaf
7 rounds around the Kaaba
Enter Masjid al-Haram with the right foot. Start each round at the Black Stone line, keeping the Kaaba on your left. Men uncover the right shoulder (idtiba) and walk briskly in the first three rounds. Then pray two rak’ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim if possible and drink Zamzam.

Bismillāhi wallāhu akbar · Rabbanā ātinā fid-dunyā ḥasanah, wa fil-ākhirati ḥasanah, wa qinā ‘adhāban-nār
In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the Fire.
Sa’i
7 laps between Safa and Marwah
Climb Safa, face the Kaaba and make dua. Walk to Marwah — that is one lap — and back again. Men jog between the green lights. The seventh lap ends at Marwah. Wheelchairs are free at Gate 1.

Safa → Marwa
Safa → Marwah is one lap; men jog between the green lights. Finish at Marwah.
إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ
Inna aṣ-Ṣafā wal-Marwata min sha‘ā’irillāh
Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. (Al-Baqarah 2:158)
Halq or Taqsir
Shave or trim — Umrah complete
Men shave the head (better) or trim evenly; women cut a fingertip’s length from the end of their hair. Barbers are at the Marwah exit. Your Umrah is now complete and Ihram restrictions are lifted.
