Masjid Al-Rayah — The Site of the Prophet’s ﷺ Flag During the Conquest of Mecca

Masjid Al-Rayah (Arabic: مسجد الراية), also known as Masjid Al-Juwardariya (Arabic: مسجد الجودرية), marked the location where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ placed his flag during the Conquest of Mecca in Ramadan 8 AH (January 630 CE). The mosque was demolished in 2012 (1433 AH) as part of the northern courtyard expansion of Masjid Al-Haram.
