Masjid Al-Qiblatain
Masjid Al-Qiblatain (Arabic: مسجد القبلتين), also known as the Mosque of Two Qiblas, is renowned for being the place where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received the divine command to change the direction of the Qibla from Jerusalem to Mecca. It is one of the three earliest mosques in the history of Islam.
Initially, Muslims prayed facing Jerusalem. However, in the 2nd year of Hijrah (624 CE), during a prayer, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received a revelation to change the Qibla direction to the Kaaba in Mecca. According to tradition, this event occurred in this mosque, where the Prophet turned toward Mecca during prayer, followed by his companions, marking a significant moment in Islamic practice.
